Our mission is to develop the intellectual foundations, scholarship, institutions, and people needed for human flourishing in the age of artificial intelligence.
Why Mirandola?
A humanist inheritance developed for new conditions.
The Institute takes its name from Giovanni Pico della Mirandola and the Renaissance humanist tradition of cultivability, learning, inquiry, rhetoric, judgment, and human possibility.
Mirandola carries that inheritance forward through scholarship, evidence, interpretation, and open inquiry. Its intellectual independence allows ideas to be examined on their merits and revised when stronger arguments or evidence require it.

The mark
Human potential at the center. Capability expanding outward.
The Mirandola mark begins with human potential at its center. Geometric forms expand outward, representing the cultivation and extension of human capability. Their ordered geometry draws on the Renaissance tradition of proportion and inquiry, while their outward movement expresses an open-ended view of human potential.
The form may be seen as a flower, star, compass, aperture, or Renaissance rosette. Each interpretation reflects part of the Institute’s purpose, and no single reading is definitive.
Independence
Inquiry requires intellectual independence.
The Mirandola Institute maintains intellectual independence so that questions, evidence, and arguments can determine the direction of its work.
Its scholarship is governed by published standards of inquiry, contestability, and revision. HumanitAI may publish work that challenges the Institute’s own arguments, including the assumptions of AI Humanism itself.
Partnerships and institutional relationships are structured to preserve the independence of research and editorial judgment.

Holly is co-founder and Executive Director of the Mirandola Institute, leading its operations, communications, brand, partnerships, and institutional development. She holds multiple master's degrees and professional designations and has lived in Florence, Aix-en-Provence, and Granada. She currently lives in Los Angeles and can order wine in four languages. She also serves as Founder & Managing Director of Assiduity AI.
Jason is co-founder and Director of Research of the Mirandola Institute, where he leads research on AI Humanism, human capability, and institutions in the age of artificial intelligence. He holds a doctorate, multiple master's degrees, and professional designations and has lived in Aix-en-Provence, Grenoble, and Granada. He currently lives in Los Angeles and can order coffee in three languages. He also serves as Founder & Lead Researcher at Assiduity AI.
